AROMATHERAPY ESSENTIAL OILS

AROMATHERAPY ESSENTIAL OILS

We've been involved with the aromatherapy industry for many years and supply top quality oils sourced from around the globe.

Margy, our on-site Aromatherapist, completed her Diploma in Aromatherapy some 25 years ago and brings her knowledge to our retail shop.  She creates our Aromatherapy Essential Oil Blends and offers our clients advice on individual oil selections.

Aroma is one of life’s greatest enjoyments and can promote relaxation and balance of body, mind and spiritual well being.  We respect the quality and purity of our products and invite you to enjoy the many different ways to bring aromatherapy into your daily life.

Therapeutic information supplied on our site does not replace diagnosis or treatment by qualified medical practitioners.  The therapeutic uses listed are intended for educational purposes. Owing to the biochemical structure of essential oils, a small number of people may react differently to essential oils than expected.  It is for this reason Fire & Ice make no guarantees as to their effects and uses.  No liability will be accepted for misuse, abuse or different reactions to the oils.

NZ PAUA BLUE PEARLS

NZ PAUA BLUE PEARLS

Paua shellfish is a variety of abalone and is indigenous to New Zealand's coastal waters. The fish is edible and considered an international delicacy and the shell has traditionally been used for adornment and embellishment in local craft and art work.

A special process is used to insert blisters onto the shell of the Paua to grow  their  distinctive pearls. The nacre  is the layer which grows over the blisters to produce the beautiful variety of colours. The pearls are harvested after several years of growth.

Paua pearls are sometimes  referred to as Blue Pearls, but as you will see, there is a large variety of colours  available ranging from soft to vibrant greens, pastel lilacs to violet blues and sometimes the pearls can show a stunning pink orient.

It is important when you are ordering a Paua Pearl to indicate your colour preference.

We are independent pearl buyers and source our pearls from several farms within New Zealand to bring you the best value Paua Pearls New Zealand has to offer.

PACIFIC PEARLS

PACIFIC PEARLS

Some of our designs featuring Pacific Pearls combined with gemstones are found in our Gemstone Jewellery category.  You'll find them by clicking on Gemstone Pendants, then selecting 'pearl' from the gemstone selection at the top of the page.

Pacific pearls are cultured pearls farmed in many locations around the Pacific and South China seas.

Cultured pearls are seeded by inserting a grain of sand into the flesh of the shellfish which then creates layers of nacre to form a round or baroque style pearl.
Other biwa-style pearls are formed by implanting a shell nucleus to stimulate the creation of a particular shaped pearl.
